What is an Ikigai?

Ikigai (pronounced Icky-guy) is a Japanese word meaning, reason for being. It uses four key elements that combine to find a pursuit that provides personal fulfilment and practical application. The four elements are:

  • What you love (passion)
  • What you are good at (talents)
  • What the world needs (purpose)
  • What you can be paid for (profession)
